COTA Australia is the peak body representing the almost nine million Australians over 50. For over 70 years our systemic advocacy has been improving the diverse lives of older people in policy areas such as aged care, health, retirement incomes, and more. Our broad agenda is focused on tackling ageism, respecting diversity, and the empowerment of older people to live life to the full.

You will be working as part of a small team dedicated to tackling ageism and its impacts on individual older Australians and the community overall.  You will have a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.

COTA Australia is an equal opportunity employer and provides flexible working conditions. The position may be based at COTA Australia’s Melbourne or Canberra office with flexible work from home arrangements. This is an ongoing part time 0.6 FTE role of 3 days per week.

JOB DETAILS:

In this role your skills will contribute to and help execute an organisational communications strategy to advance COTA Australia’s advocacy and enhance the organisation’s reputation.  You will contribute to the delivery of our Strategic Plan and funded projects.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Digital Media – Drive growth and foster an engaged community on COTA Australia’s digital channels including through executing a digital content calendar and production of our monthly eNews
  • Maintenance of the Digital Environment – maintain the eDM database and COTA Australia website  
  • Communications – Support an integrated proactive communication framework and associated strategies, including writing articles and other content to support communication and assist in the design of COTA Australia’s marketing and other collateral as needed.
