The Australian Government through the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department released the much-anticipated Draft National Plan to End the Abuse and Mistreatment of Older People on 12 December 2024. The Plan was the outcome of a review of the previous plan, public consultation in 2023 and agreement between the State and Territory Attorneys General.
The COTA Alliance (COTA Australia and the State and Territory COTAs) submission is welcoming of the second National Plan to End the Abuse and Mistreatment of Older Australians. However, we want to continue to ensure that the focus remains on what matters to older Australians and that the outcomes are sustainable. To find out more, read our submission.
