Sophia’s career has spanned television news production, teaching language, aged and community services, board appointments, senior roles in local government and the community sector.
As well as managing large teams of staff (over 300 EFT) and large operational budgets ($44m) in complex environments. Sophia has also worked in smaller organisations with financial and operational restraints.
Sophia is known to be a collaborative and inclusive leader. She is compassionate and builds and supports individuals and teams to be resilient and achieve their best. Sophia is also a qualified and experienced workplace and business coach and has worked with many teams and individuals to focus, develop and achieve increased work satisfaction as well as increasing staff engagement.
As head of policy and engagement at COTA Australia, Sophia is committed to listening to older people and working with them to inform policy development and advocacy.
