COTA Australia’s submission to the Treasurer’s 2025 Economic Reform Roundtable says older people are not a burden, but a major opportunity for Australia’s future.
The submission discusses four big areas of untapped productivity: helping more older workers stay in work by tackling ageism; increasing productivity in the care economy workforce; making digital systems easier and safer for everyone to use; and reducing poverty and financial stress in later life stages. These changes would benefit the whole country and reduce inequality – both between and within generations.
