This COTA Australia submission responds to the review of the aged care rules undertaken by the Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee commencing in November 2025.
The submission responds to the specified provisions of the review and refers to a range of other issues in the rules that have not been satisfactorily resolved.
Specific issues that we want to highlight are that showering should be a clinical service, all residents in aged care should have access to free to air television at no cost, there should be a consistent approach to financial hardship and that waiting list data on CHSP services should be provided in reporting.
