On 1 November 2025, the new Aged Care Act came into effect.
This Act introduces important changes to how aged care in Australia is delivered – with a focus on the rights and needs of older people. The reforms are significant and complex, and they may affect you or someone you care for.
To help people understand what’s changing, COTA Australia and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) hosted community information sessions around Australia throughout September and October.
